What is the NameStudio Web Component Beta?

The NameStudio Web Component Beta is a new Verisign product that delivers a mobile-friendly domain name search UI powered by the Verisign NameStudio API Service to customers such as registrars, resellers, web hosting service companies, and other businesses that offer domain name search and registration services. The NameStudio Web Component Beta can be customized to match your website and can be easily integrated by copying and pasting a few lines of HTML/JavaScript code.

What are Web Components?

Web Components are a set of web platform APIs that allow you to create new custom, reusable, encapsulated HTML tags to use in web pages and web apps. Custom components and widgets built on web component standards generally work across modern browsers and can be used with any JavaScript library or framework that works with HTML.

What are the benefits of using the Verisign NameStudio Web Component Beta?

The Verisign NameStudio Web Component Beta provides several benefits including:

* NameStudio Web Component Beta provides second-level domain name suggestions and availability checks in Verisign-operated ccTLDs, Verisign-operated TLDs, and numerous other TLDs. Availability checks are currently offered in Verisign-operated TLDs and several other TLDs. Availability checks are subject to change and do not reflect domain names that may be unavailable due to registry operator policies.

How can I use the Verisign NameStudio Web Component Beta on my website?

With the NameStudio Web Component Beta you can:

  • Build marketing campaigns pages for supported TLDs with a minimal amount of HTML and JavaScript code

  • Offer customers an optimized search experience that allows them to brainstorm with ease to find relevant and available domain names

  • Adapt your website message and domain name results to the local market language to help grow your business*

* NameStudio Web Component Beta supports language customization and domain name suggestions in several languages; however, depending on your customization options, domain name search requests inputted in Mandarin will be returned in English. How can I participate in the NameStudio Web Component Beta Program?

To participate in the NameStudio Web Component Beta program, email nswbeta@verisign.com to request the Participation Request Form. After successfully completing the beta enrollment process, you will have access to the Web Component page in the Verisign Developer Portal where you can manage your web components, view technical documentation, and check service notices.

How easy is it to integrate my website with the NameStudio Web Component Beta?

In just a few simple steps you can customize your web component in the Verisign Developer Portal to match the look and feel of your website and integrate it into your website by copying and pasting a few lines of HTML/JavaScript code.

How many NameStudio Web Components can I get?

Once you have access to the Verisign Developer Portal, you can configure up to five NameStudio Web Components, each with an individual API key. The same NameStudio Web Component code can be reused across up to 10 different websites and pages.

Which TLDs does the Verisign NameStudio Web Component Beta support?

The Verisign NameStudio Web Component Beta supports the same TLDs as the NameStudio API Service, however; you can only select up to 30 TLDs when customizing your Web Component. The Verisign NameStudio API Service can provide domain name suggestions across a wide range of TLDs including Verisign-operated TLDs and other legacy TLDs, and new gTLDs*.

How does the Verisign NameStudio Web Component Beta display domain name suggestions?

The Verisign NameStudio Web Component Beta displays domain name suggestions in a brainstorming or list view. Brainstorming view returns the suggestions in a format that allows a customer to brainstorm available second level domain names in selected TLDs by presenting alternative keyword combinations. List view returns full available domain name alternatives, displaying second level domain names in selected TLDs supported by NameStudio Web Component Beta.

Can I display pricing with the domain name suggestions returned by the NameStudio Web Component?

Yes. The NameStudio Web Component allows you to add pricing information within the results using a programmatic integration option. If you configure the NameStudio Web Component with the list view, the pricing will be displayed next to each domain name suggestion. For the brainstorming view, the pricing will appear next to the domain name suggestion under the search bar. What languages does the Verisign NameStudio Web Component Beta support?

The following languages are currently supported by the NameStudio Web Component Beta:
